In the past couple weeks I have been working really hard on my form. I notice sometimes when I run, I don't really bend my knees- and think it was more of a shuffle or jog. Getting more serious about it, I have been hitting the gym hard for legs and really paying attention to my form. I have to run without my IPOD sometimes to do so, but I found: good posture, strong core and actually letting your legs do most of the work has helped me so much. Not to mention I took a minute off each mile by just making this one change.
Today I ran from Risner gym up past the high school, up to the USO and back down to Douglas and back around by Chili's. Didn't have my GPS on, so I don't know how far it is.. but it felt awesome.
I get hungry running at 4:30 in the morning, but hate to eat before I go. Any ideas except bananas or chocolate milk?
Beautiful weather this morning.. better take advantage of training now before it gets hot..
have you tried a 1/2 protein bar? That usually has just enough to keep me going....I like the south beach ones, they are low in everything.....
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys have posted a lot since I came here last! I've been slacking because I haven't been running much. Anyway, as far as eating before running, I have a read that a lot of people don't eat before they go in the am. I have to eat, I personally don't think it's healthy or that I can perform well on a sleeping fast. I use to eat either a banana and almonds and choc milk, toast with peanut butter and choc milk, or kashi and milk.
